COUNT YOUR WORDS – because heaven does!
Every word I speak will be accounted for – every word – by God himself. How we address the needs of those in Gaza, how we speak about our enemies, how we speak about our leaders, how we gossip about fellow believers, how we complain about load-shedding, and the list goes on. EVERY empty word we speak will either acquit us or condemn us. Pause for a moment and think about that!
A LIFE IN GAZA: great value BUT little dignity.
On 7 October 2023, when Hamas crossed the southern borders of Israel and killed 1,139 people, a moral question arose that sadly escaped the lips of many believers: What is the value of a human life? On that fateful day, value and dignity collided – and, sadly, value won.
GAZA: A lost generation
The British political campaign group ‘Led By Donkeys’ laid out 11,500 sets of Children’s clothing representing one set of clothes for every child killed in Gaza since 7 October 2023. The line is 5km long. The magnitude of the loss of young innocent lives in Gaza is heartbreaking
THE GAZA CONFLICT AND BUBBLE-BASED-BELIEVERS
We now live in a season of bubble-based-believers. The conflict in Gaza has subtly turned Bible-based believers into bubble-based believers. It has alienated followers of Christ and firmly placed us into “bubbles” of allegiances. If you are in the crowds today don’t disregard the words of your Saviour. Quoting scripture and confessing Christ while communicating suspicion and fear will not result in a change of direction nor will it glorify the One we seek to enthrone. Change will not happen by chance. It will only happen when those who confess a God of hope start acting like people of hope.
“STATISTICS IN GAZA DON’T BLEED” – Think again
“Statistics don’t bleed”, or at least, so the saying goes. This is the sad reality of Gaza today. So how do we explain the enormity of the situation in Gaza without simply mentioning numbers? Consider the following …
SOWING SUSPICION, the 7th sin when discussing global events
How serious are we really about scripture when we attempt to interpret the wars in Gaza, Ukraine, Sudan, and Yemen? With what attitude do we report on Elon Musk and his new brain microchip or Bill Gates and the vaccine? Through which lenses do we approach upcoming elections in more than half of the globe and the political parties we engage in? How do we apply the truth that we so eagerly proclaim when we discuss the marginalised, displaced and broken-hearted? Simply put; how do we engage in a season of opportunities from a Biblical and Godly perspective?
