Lockdown Day 5: FLY LIKE AN EAGLE
Isaiah 40:31 But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
Ever wondered what it must be like to fly like an eagle. Have a look at this video and be amazed!
This scripture is NOT about having faith in the Lord. This IS about trusting the Lord. Where we choose to find our source of strength in this season of death will not only reveal who we subconsciously bow to, but it will also reflect our inner ability to remain strong. If our source is wealth and financial security, it has crumbled. If it is health and social security, it has disintegrated. If it is entertainment and emotional security, it has completely collapsed.
But those who hope (trust) in the Lord will not only remain strong in a time of isolation but will renew their strength in their solitude. This is our transformational choice for daily strength, we will soar like eagles. Not because we are better than the rest, but simply because our source is eternal.
Now, bear in mind the words of C J Spurgeon: “Many who declare themselves to be eagles spend most of their lives in hawking for flies. Instead of acting like kings, many who claim to be the sons of God act as meanly as if they were scullions in the kitchen of Mammon.”
