- There are 18 major world religions: Agnostics, Atheists, Baha’i, Buddhism, Christianity, Confucianism, Daoism, Ethnoreligious, Hinduism, Islam, Jainism, Judaism, New Religious, Shintoism, Sikhism, Spiritists, Zoroastrianism
- Subdivided into a total of 10,200 distinct religions
- There are 38,000 Christian denominations
- The Roman Catholic Church is the largest Christian group in the world today with more than a billion followers constituting about half of the world’s Christian population.
- Approximately 225 million people worldwide are Orthodox Christians.
- There are approximately 500 million Protestants in the world.
